Comparisons With Fiber Cement
A lot of comparisons can be made with fiber cement to really see if it is the product that will attend to one's need. However, with the high demand that it has managed to maintain over the years it is only clear that despite the many comparisons being made with other siding products it is still first on the list for many people.
People that are looking for the appearance of wood on their houses without the setbacks of wood find fiber cement in a category to itself. It does not rot, nor it it prone to be infested by termites, it does not warp, fade, it is very resistant against salt spray and ultraviolet rays and can withstand impact without showing dents or distortions in its overall structure. When compared to vinyl siding it does not melt nor become hot when exposed to hot surfaces. Extreme cold does not affect as in the case of aluminum siding and it does not require mortar and ''repointing'' of mortar as with stone and brick siding.
Unlike wood that is subject to contracting and expanding under different weather conditions, fiber cement does not suffer this changes is size and structure. It is not as heavy as stones and bricks and may require at last two people to install it. There is also no need to prepare the foundation for accepting the weight that it will add to the house because it does not affect it.
