Advantages of Fiber Cement Fascia Trim
The installation or replacement of fascia trim is an integral part of any home siding project. Whether used in the construction of a new home or as a replacement for damaged or worn out fascia in an existing home, fiber cement fascia trim offers many advantages over other trim materials.
Appearance: Fascia trim made of fiber cement has the same great curb appeal of fiber cement siding. Just as fiber cement siding can be made to duplicate other siding materials, including wood, brick, or masonry, so can fiber cement fascia trim. The wide variety of available options ensures new fascia complements the pattern, color, and texture of the fiber cement siding used.
Durability: Fiber cement products are extremely durable. Unlike wood fascia, fiber cement fascia is not subject to rot or decay. It is not susceptible to the degradation caused by the sun's UV rays, rain, snow, or other extreme weather.
Fire resistance: The trim is fire resistant due to the fiber cement construction. Unlike other materials that burn or melt easily, such as wood or vinyl, fiber cement fascia trim actually enhances the fire resistance of the home.
Insect resistance: Fiber cement fascia trim retains the same resistance to wood eating insects found in fiber cement siding. It blocks the passage of termites, carpenter ants, and other destructive pests.
Low maintenance: Due to its durable construction, it is very low maintenance. When properly painted, fiber cement fascia trim can last many more years then ordinary wood trim without needing to be repainted.
